“And forged federal credentials?” I asked. “Do those grow back too?”
He slammed his cuffed hands onto the table. “I am your husband.”
“No,” I said quietly. “You are a suspect.”
The word landed with visible force.
Ryan looked past me toward the captain. “She’s doing this because she hates my mother.”
“I’m doing this because my attorney found forged documents with my signature on them,” I said. “Because you attempted to enter a military installation with fake credentials. Because your mother assaulted me while I was unconscious. Because the two of you thought I would resign before I realized what you were stealing.”
